"Trumpets of Paper," sponsored by Jack Lussier, documents circus advertising using wood-cut and stone pressed lithography from the 1850s to the 1950s. Here we see one of the most famous circus images in the Charging Tiger poster. These dramatic pieces of art influenced movie posters of the 1930s and 1940s and continue to influence advertising to this day.
